Iuliana joined PATRIR in 2022 and has since risen to the role of Executive Director, where she provides the organization’s strategic vision and operational leadership. Her dedication to humanitarian work took root in childhood and deepened throughout her youth, fueling a lifelong passion for crisis response in armed‑conflict settings, peacebuilding, and environmental sustainability. Under her guidance, PATRIR launched the Ukraine House, a protection and support hub for Ukrainian refugees that has evolved into a thriving community centre, delivering vital resources, fostering social inclusion, and advancing gender equality. In addition, Iuliana leads PATRIR’s advocacy, policy‑research, and evidence‑based programming efforts, ensuring that the organization’s work informs and shapes humanitarian and development policies at local, national, and international levels. Iuliana blends analytical rigor with compassionate vision, translating PATRIR’s mission into concrete programs, measurable outcomes, and lasting hope for those most affected by displacement and conflict.
Kseniia Shyriaieva served as the coordinator of the UA Child Education Hub, an educational initiative for Ukrainian children that she co‑founded in July 2022 together with fellow Ukrainian refugees after fleeing Ukraine with part of her family. In that capacity she demonstrated compassionate leadership and meticulous project management, organizing fundraising fairs, community events, and partnership drives that united her team, local and international NGOs, City Hall, TIFF, and numerous business allies. Her collaboration with municipal authorities was especially dynamic, while simultaneously cultivating a vibrant network of community volunteers and corporate sponsors eager to contribute resources and expertise. Passionate about helping others, Kseniia continually sought creative solutions that delivered tangible benefits to children and families, laying the foundations for a strong, supportive community that continues to thrive.
