Ukraine Support

The Ukraine Support program is addressing the urgent and ongoing need for protection, support, and integration of Ukrainian refugees who have fled the conflict and sought safety in Romania, particularly in Cluj. Since the war began, thousands of Ukrainians have found refuge in Romania, many of whom have chosen to settle and rebuild their lives here. However, the challenges they face—legal uncertainties, trauma, and isolation—require structured and sustained support systems.

PATRIR was on the frontlines from the first hours of the crisis, providing all the necessary support. Today, our two protection hubs ensure a continuous flow of assistance. While Ukraine House Cluj – Клуж, Румунія provides legal aid, trauma counseling, and community support for adults, UA Child Education Hub – освітній проєкт для українських дітей offers dedicated resources for children, helping them learn, grow, and find joy in a new environment.

What we do?:
The Ukraine Support program tackles this issue by operating community hubs—key points where Ukrainian refugees can access essential services like legal advice, trauma counseling, and information about their rights. These hubs have evolved into more than just support centers; they have become vibrant community spaces, providing a sense of belonging and emotional stability for the displaced Ukrainians.

PATRIR has fostered a collaborative, community-driven environment. Members of the Ukrainian refugee community not only receive help but are actively involved in shaping the activities and services offered. This participatory approach strengthens social ties, encourages self-reliance, and helps refugees build new, supportive networks in their new home.

The unique value of our program lies in this ability to combine immediate service provision with long-term community building. By empowering individuals to take an active role in their own integration, we help create a resilient, self-sustaining refugee community that contributes to the overall well-being of Cluj and Sighisoara.
